Acts 15:3; I Corinthians 16:10-11; II Corinthians 1:15-16, and other passages all teach, either by precept or example, the responsibility of local churches to support the work and progress of missionaries.
In the spirit of that principle, Faith Baptist Church financially supports nearly 60 missionary families around the world through our own mission board (Home and Abroad Missions, Inc.) and others.
Moreover, missionaries on the field have often "left all" (or nearly all) and consequently have few resources on which they can rely when they are home on furlough. Therefore, in addition to monthly financial support, Faith Baptist Church also makes available a number of practical services to missionaries while they are home from the field.
As they visit with us or as they are passing through the area, we make available without charge:
- Nicely furnished apartments
- RV parking spaces with full-water, electricity, and sewer-hookups
- Gifts of new items from a well-stocked missionary closet of household and personal items for men, women, and children
- Clean laundry facilities
- Clean kitchen facilities
- Internet access and study space
|
In addition to these services our "Ladies of Faith" missionary group keeps up personal correspondence with each missionary (whether at home or on the field) throughout the year, keeping informed of needs and acknowledging special events such as birthdays and anniversaries. They also produce a number of beautiful quilts each year which they award to different missionaries at our annual missions conference.
We truly believe that missions is the heartbeat of God.
